Enter a modernized world of Jane Austen’s Persuasion.
When Anne Elliot meets Derek Worth the summer before her Senior year of high school, it’s not quite love at first time, but almost. Until things fall apart and the young couple breaks up.
Five years later, things are still falling apart. When Walter Elliot announces that he’s bankrupt, Anne finds herself without her college fund and a place to live.
With her childhood home being rented out, Anne is faced with living with her sister, Mary, and her husband, Charles. There she comes face to face with a ghost from her past and Charles’ new history tutor – Derek Worth.
Can Anne and Derek find their way back to each other or will Charles’ sisters, Etta and Isa, throw a complication or two their way?
Persuaded combines young adult, sweet new adult, and contemporary genres in this Austen variation.
First Impressions

Lizzy
Focused on getting as many scholarships as possible, running and academics are the bulk of Elizabeth “Lizzy” Barnes’ life. When Liam becomes her newest teammate and classmate, she begins to wonder if there is more to life than her pursuit of a debt-free college experience.
Liam
When William “Liam” Davis’ parents are killed in a car accident, he’s sent across the state to live with his overbearing Aunt Catherine Delgado.
Starting over during his Senior year of high school was not something he ever expected to happen and he finds himself in uncertain territory as he struggles to adapt to the changes happening in his life.
Meeting Elizabeth Barnes happened to be an added bonus.
As they grow closer, Aunt Catherine gives Liam an ultimatum that disrupts their friendship: Liam and his sister can get the therapy they need if he stops being friends with ‘that Barnes girl.’

Moving back to his hometown comes with its own pitfalls and ghosts. Liam is faced with so many questions and options as he finishes up his last year of undergrad.
Can they come back from what he did? Can Liam repair what he broke? Will Liam and Lizzy finally get their happily ever after or will somebody from their past come and disrupt the growing relationship between them?
