Grace: Hey, Delilah, the newsletter Alicia is writing is about us. She’s given us permission to talk about our upcoming stories. She gave me a set of notes and everything.
Delilah: Really? About us? About time. People have been asking where our next stories are. takes paper with notes on it
Grace: Actually…
Delilah: Actually what?
Grace: They’ve been asking where my next story is. They have been asking for more of me and Kyle.
Kyle: -smirks-
David: -nudges Kyle-
Delilah: -rolls her eyes- They are children.
Grace: But they are our children. Kinda.
David: I am not a child.
Delilah: Then quit acting like it.
David: Are you still mad about that whole Natalie thing? Most of that was your doing. If you had only communicated with me about what was going on, we never would have broken up.
Delilah: Hush. We aren’t supposed to tell them that.
David: -shaking his head- You have told me the rules to romances and romance novels so many times. They know we’ll get back together. They just don’t know how, yet. Or for how long. Or why we broke up.
Delilah: You already told them. Natalie.
David: That isn’t the whole story and we all know it.
Grace and Kyle: -laughs-
David: Oh, boy, and the wringer Alicia put the two of you through.
Grace: -shrugging- I told Alicia what happened in my story. It just took a while for Alicia to write it down because I kept remembering things that needed to be added. It’s Delilah’s fault she took so long to admit to what she agreed to.
Delilah: I blame it all on Natalie.
David: Of course you do.
Kyle: shaking his head Does any of this matter? Everything turned out the way it should. It’s a college-aged romance story after all.
David: I don’t know who is worse about communicating, you two or Delilah?
Grace and Kyle look at each other
Together: Delilah!
Grace: Our communication skills had nothing to do with it. We needed to work on setting boundaries with our families.
Kyle: And then we had to get our lives back into order after we stuck by our boundaries.
Grace: And then we communicated when we saw each other for the first time after our break-up.
Kyle: It wasn’t our fault it took so long to see each other on this campus. It might be a small campus, but our schedules weren’t working together.
Grace: It just wasn’t the right time.
Kyle: Until it was.
Delilah: -looks at David-
David: -shakes his head-
Grace: Right! We could have just had what was thought to be our already established Happy Ever After endings, but people wanted more and more means drama.
Delilah: Ugh. Drama.
Kyle: But Grace, we didn’t really have any drama.
Grace: Not yet, but there’s still the revisions to do. Alicia’s only written our rough draft.
Delilah: Alicia hasn’t even finished our story yet.
David: Then how do we know we get a happy ever after?
Delilah: Because it’s a romance and I told Alicia was happens to us and why last night.
David: Oh.
Grace: Hey, guys, we’re nearing five hundred words. We should wrap up this announcement.
Kyle: We passed five hundred words.
David: We were making an announcement?
Delilah: Yes. We were supposed to tell everybody that Alicia is almost finished with our stories. At least our rough drafts.
Grace: And that our stories and Stephanie’s story should be released sometime this year. Depending on how long it takes to edit and revise my story.
Delilah: And mine!
Kyle: Where is Stephanie? Was she supposed to be here?
Grace: She didn’t want to introduce her new boyfriend to David.
David: Why not?
Kyle: -shaking his head- Grace isn’t serious. Stephanie is at work.
David: Now I really want a cupcake.
Grace: Anyway. Stephanie’s story comes first. It takes place about the same time as The Summer After Graduation, but you don’t have to read anything other than Stephanie Makes the Match for her story to make sense.
Delilah: I’m not even certain you need to read that. But her story is cute.
Grace: And short. She doesn’t have a long story.
Delilah: She has 12 thousand words. I think mine and David’s story will be about that length.
Grace: gulps Kyle and my rough draft is over 42k words.
Kyle: Is our story too long?
Grace: It takes place over three college semesters. Not including the summer semester. Stephanie’s takes place over June and July.
Delilah: David and my story takes place over less than a semester.
Grace: But Alicia still has to edit my story.
Kyle: -clears throat-
Grace: Our story. She still has to edit our story.
Delilah: And my story…
David: -clears his throat-
Delilah: Our story is still being written, but it shouldn’t take too long to write.
Grace: It took over a year to write my story.
Delilah: But Alicia also took a break and wrote two Enchanted Forest stories because we weren’t being very revealing with our stories.
Grace: I was busy working and studying.
Kyle: Same.
Grace: Although I didn’t tell Alicia about Jennifer visiting me at work during the summer and when I first met Harper and a few other things she’ll have to add in. Somehow.
Kyle: I did.
Grace: I know.
Delilah: So… for the readers still with us and impatiently waiting. Stephanie Meets Her Match, The Bookworm Goes to College, and The Wallflower and the Jock will be released soon. Alicia hopes to start releasing them in August.
Grace: Even though Stephanie’s story starts in June.
Kyle: And ours in late September
David: And ours shortly after September. Turns to Delilah Why is our story being released before Grace and Kyle’s if theirs starts before ours?
Delilah: Because our story ends before theirs.
David: Right. Okay. That makes sense.
Grace: -shrugs- You two had the major story for the high school series. We get the major story for the college years.
Kyle: Unless somebody else decides they need to be a long story. I can see Aimee begging for the attention.
Grace: Kyle!
Kyle: -shrugs- What? We all know my half-sister seeks attention, but that’s Alicia’s problem for next year.
Delilah: After Emma and the next batch of Enchanted Forest stories?
Grace: After least after Emma. She’s planning on releasing our stories three at a time and Jennifer, Aimee, and Kellie are next to share.
Delilah: I need to go call Kellie. It’s been a while since I’ve talked to her.
David: We need to go get lunch before time goes over.
Kyle: We’ve passed a thousand words. Our time has already gone over.
Grace: Is there anything else Alicia told us to tell her readers and newsletter subscribers?
Delilah: -checks notes- Our pending releases, what’s next in her to-write list, and when to expect more Bookworm College stories. Oh. Right. Will there be a third Bookworm Series once the college years are over.
Grace: -turns to audience- Alicia is well aware that Bookworm fans will likely want the after college happy endings with weddings and houses and jobs and maybe babies. She’s planning on writing some of them, but she wants to get through the college years first. She doesn’t want to burn out on our stories like she did for our high school years.
Delilah: Alicia has so many ideas that she wants to write and not enough time to write everything.
David: She hopes everybody will give her backlist a shot.
Kyle: Except for the original cover Enchanted Forest stories. She’s still working on revising some of them.
David: Only three more to go.
Delilah: And if you like the Bookworms best, you can check out the Hastings Siblings. They have a similar vibe.
Grace: And the Jane Austen Variations. You don’t have to read Jane Austen to enjoy those stories.
Delilah: Those are my favorites.
David: The Bookworm Next Door isn’t your favorite?
Delilah: I lived it. I like reading about other peoples’ lives. And you know how I am about Pride and Prejudice.
Grace, David, Kyle: We all know how you feel about Pride and Prejudice!
David: But seriously? Can we go get lunch now? I’d like to eat before I go into work.
Kyle: What do we want to eat?
David: Not pizza!
-everybody laughs-
