Writetober2020 - Day 6 - Orange
Elizabeth watched the sky turn orange and pink as the sun set. The feeling of regret and longing filled her chest while she sorted books that were ready to go back on the shelves to be checked out.
Her now-former teammates would be on their return trip back from a cross-country meet, but she was stuck inside behind the returns desk at the library instead.Â
Even though her hours had increased, handling returns was one of the few things she could do sitting down. She'd made a mess the week before attempting to shelve books while learning her crutches.
